1. Shift from Formula Hunter to System Analyst
Most students fail JEE Advanced Physics problems because they try to find a single formula that connects all given values. In JEE Advanced, single-formula questions do not exist. Problems are multi-concept webs combining mechanics, electrostatics, and thermodynamics.
2. The Bulletproof Free Body Diagram (FBD)
Before writing a single equation, spend 90 seconds drawing a clear, isolated FBD. Mark all normal forces, tension vectors, friction components, and pseudoforces in non-inertial frames.
3. Conservation Laws: Energy vs Momentum
Ask yourself two fundamental questions at the start of every mechanics problem:
"Is external net force zero along any direction?" → Apply Conservation of Linear Momentum.
"Are all forces conservative or is non-conservative work zero?" → Apply Conservation of Mechanical Energy.
4. Translating Physics to Differential Calculus
When variable forces or mass variation occur (like rocket propulsion or variable spring constants), set up $dx$ and $dt$ element equations cleanly before integrating with proper limits.
